The Case Study Foundation For Asian Tsunami Warning and Mitigation
Step One:
In order to be able to create an action plan and effect change in your issue area, you need to conduct a case study of one particular program that is currently working on your topic.
That means your topic has to very specific and narrowed.
For example: Child Poverty in India is way too broad of a topic.
Instead: Street Children in Delhi, India.

Part One: Find and research an organization that is currently doing work on your narrowed topic and answer the following questions. Answer the questions and fill out the resource log (it is posted on the wiki under Assignments) and post it on your wiki.

Name: UNESCO Home and Communities
United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organizations. UNESCO works as a laboratory for ideas and a standard-setter to forge universal agreements on rising ethical issues. They have been working on a better Pacific Tsunami Warning System. What I like about their program is that they’ve have spent a long time, starting from 1965, working on this project and are still persistent on doing it, and they update their information frequently, the last update was just yesterday. Exactly how does the warning system work? Even if all the people are warned of tsunami and manage to evacuate out of the area, will there be a place where they can stay? I could also help them build some shelters or places where the people could evacuate to.\Or if I were to model my action plan after it, I could also educate the people of the areas in which they could be affected by a tsunami about the signals that will be sent out to warn them about the tsunami.
(Home and Communities, is a branch of the US department of Housing and Urban Development. It had a program that would provide housing assistance and case management for homeowners and renters who were displaced by the hurricanes. I like that they had helped families who were in a shelter to locate housing. Why do only the people that meet FEMA’s eligibility requirements for housing assistance will be referred to HUD, why not help out the vast majority of the people that need help?)

Oxfam is sending in aid workers to help the victims of the cyclone. Oxfam are also trying to rebuild water point in the villages, get more wells to get water and trucking more water into Myanmar. Also, they are sending in tarpaulins and plastic sheets as shelter for the survivors and also sending in rice, biscuits, oil, noodles, salt, blankets, candles, some first aid kits, and medicines. Seeing as most of the victims are farmers/fishers Oxfam will send in the tools, seeds, and fertilizers that they need to grow crops during the planting seasons
